File preparation
Before you upload your design, please ensure the following instructions have been followed.
Setting up your document
The maximum paper size for digital print is SRA3 (450mm x 320mm). You should not, unless you have consulted us first, set your page size to be bigger than A3 (420mm x 297mm). When you are producing artwork please supply it to us 'one up' as opposed to ganging several up together. We will impose (plan up) your work to best suit our printers.
Software supported
Our preferred file format is Adobe Acrobat PDF (Portable Document Format), however our studio is running all the very latest up to date software (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Quark Xpress etc.) We accept JPG, TIFF and EPS files. If you are submitting EPS files, please convert your fonts to outlines. Word and Publisher files can be converted.
The colour breakdown of your files must be CMYK. If your files contain any other breakdown, such as RGB or Pantone, they will be converted to CMYK. Conversion may cause a slight colour change to occur.
The resolution of your artwork must be at least 300 dots per inch (dpi) at the final output size. You must create the artwork at the correct resolution from the start. You cannot change a low resolution to a higher one by increasing dpi in your imaging program, a low-resolution file may look ok on your screen but it will not print well. Smaller sized files can still work and produce acceptable results, if at all unsure please email info@ibagraphics.co.uk
Remember, that if an image or colour runs off the page in any direction, you must give us some 'bleed' to avoid having a possible unwanted white line when you print is guillotined. This 'bleed area' should be 3mm on all sides.
Text or images should ideally be at least 3mm inside the final dimension of your artwork. If your design contains borders, it is advisable to ensure that they are at least 6mm inside the final dimension of your artwork.
Fonts
We do hold a large library of fonts for the Mac. In order to process your work as efficiently as possible we do recommend that all fonts used be supplied along with your artwork. If you are supplying a PDF file make sure that the option to embed all fonts has been selected.
